The GTRC team were delighted to receive a visit from a group of Cranfield University CDT students today to show them how we experimentally investigate hydrogen switching in gas turbines through a demonstration session.


After starting with methane only combustion, the group were able to witness the changes in flame behaviour, appearance and emissions when moving to a 100% hydrogen flame through 20% increments. We were also able to provide some details on emissions normalisation techniques as used and discussed in the field.

A great time was had by all.
