IDRIC is currently in the launch period and information about several of our upcoming activities can be found via our Events page. IDRIC is backed by £20m funding until 2024. The initiative is part of the £170m Industrial Decarbonisation challenge, delivered through the Industrial decarbonisation challenge-UKRI.

IDRIC’s research agenda is informed by the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) objectives and structured to deliver:

  • multidisciplinary research in cross-cutting areas of technology, policy, economics and regulation;
  • industrial input and stakeholder engagement to shape research challenges and accelerate impact;
  • agility and flexibility to respond to research challenges faced by the industrial clusters; and
  • knowledge exchange activities integrated across the programme to maximise its impact.

The outcome is to deliver long-lasting economic growth and societal benefits, and to build the foundations for the new industrial clusters of tomorrow.
